I went to go check out the new KILLER SHRIMP on Admiralty Way. (Those familiar with the area may remember the restaurant that used to be on Washington Blvd.) The huge location– 5,000 square feet according to their website— has an awkward layout. As you sit in the oversized waiting area waiting for your table you gotta wonder if they made the best use of their space. Still undecided. And their whole “rock and roll” concept falls apart a little bit when you realize it hinges on making all the servers wear the same color lipstick.
Moving on to the food…. Two of us ordered the Original Killer Shrimp with French Bread (above); one ordered Original over rice and the fourth member of our group got the Sautéed Scallops and a grilled lobster tail (below). It’s great the restaurant offers the option to add a grilled lobster tail to any entree for $10. My Original Killer Shrimp was good. Not the best I’ve had, but it was really fresh and the portions were generous.
Final thoughts:
Expect to wait; reservations aren’t accepted for groups smaller than 6. Try and get yourself a seat with a view. Recommended.
