With all the gadgets, travel aids and products designed to make travel more comfortable it was tough to decide what were my favorites. After some consideration, I got the list down to what I’ll be taking with me on my 17-hour journey to China next week. Clockwise from top left:
REI Self-Inflating Travel Pillow
After trying to wrestle my u-neck pillow into my carry-on one too many times, I finally decided to downside. This self-inflating model rolls up small for easy packing in the included storage stuff sack. And the silicone striping on back reduces shifting during use.

DREAMSACKS Travel Comfort Set
A friend gave me this a few years ago and I take it on all my trips. Can’t say enough for having your own blanket, pillowcase and eye shades. Silk Noil Blanket is 43″ X 72″ with a 10″ pocket to keep your feet warm.
Silk Pillowcase is 15″ X 20″ to cover an airline or travel pillow. Everything rolls into a 12″ bag and the total weight is less than a pound. And, if the recent bedbug infestation has you all creeped out, check out the Original DreamSack.

EAGLE CREEK Dual Wattage International Converter Set
The basics: an adapter allows you to plug your electronics into different types of outlets. A converter changes the power. If your appliance is not dual voltage–like many hairdryers–you’ll need a converter as well as an adapter. This dual circuit unit operates as a 0-25 watt transformer in the low setting and a 26-1875 watt converter in the high setting. Includes 5 ungrounded adapters.
To learn more about international electrical connections, see Magellan’s guide to getting the right adapter.

I’ve left stuff in the seat back pocket enough times to definitely not want to do it again. This lightweight multi-zip pouch is great for stashing your in-flight essentials and can be easily pulled from a larger carry-on. Features 3 front zips, 2 interior card slots, and large back zip compartment. Also includes a side loop for hanging on the latch of the tray table on the seat in front of you. 9″ X 7″ and can expand up to 2.75″ deep.
