From the Human Rights Campaign website:
On May 26, 2009, the California Supreme Court’s 6-1 decision upheld Proposition 8. Two couples would not be silent while their relationships were declared unworthy of a marriage license. They took their case to a federal district court in California.
Today, that court ruled Prop 8 violates the U.S. Constitution. But this decision will likely be appealed, and could go all the way to the Supreme Court.
