One of the best parts of this recent trip down the Central Coast was taking the time to stop at all the small towns along the way. Born and bred along from the Mid-Atlantic, I was most excited to gorge out on seafood. My friends immediately suggested PHIL’S FISH MARKET in the small waterfront town of Moss Landing. Our first stop was at the bar to check out their extensive wine collection. The bartender was great and made some great suggestions.
Riesling in hand, I headed over to check out the extensive dining menu. I was so excited over the plethora of seafood that I ordered way too much food. Apparently, that’s common for first-timers at Phil’s. I was already full after the clam chowder. Thank goodness for the friends that were more than happy to help me with the rest. It was soooo good and I was amazed at the generous portions of seafood. The bowl of pasta (pictured below) was about 10″ across!
Mediterranean Pasta with bay shrimp, scallops and crabmeat, $19.50.
Fish and Chips Cod, $14.95; Oysters on the Half Shell, $1.75 each.
We had a fabulous time. I can’t wait to go back!
