If you read about my last trip up north, you know I love, love San Mateo’s Chinese food. So, I was surprised to find myself soy-sauced-out and looking for something of the non-Asian variety. I consulted the ever-trusty Yelp and found great reviews for JERSEY JOE’S in San Carlos. While I waited for our two cheesesteaks– one plain ($7) and one with onions and mushrooms ($7.50)– I could tell the place was filled with regulars. And, I after I scarfed my sandwich down, I could see why. Not the best West Coast cheesesteak I’ve ever had, but pretty good. I’ll definitely be stopping by again.
