I was flipping through Fast Company this morning and came across an ad from Vosges Haut-Chocolat. Subhead reads, “Two equally obsessive foods come together in one perfectly balanced bite of savory, smoky and sweet.” Immediate reaction: uh…gross. But, strangely I could not turn the page. I became intrigued. Check out the description for the Mo’s Milk Chocolate Bacon Bar made with applewood smoked bacon, Alder wood smoked salt, deep milk chocolate and cacao:
Breathe…engage your five senses, close your eyes and inhale deeply. Be in the present moment, notice the color of the chocolate, the glossy shine. Rub your thumb over the chocolate bar to release the aromas of smoked applewood bacon flirting with deep milk chocolate. Snap off just a tiny piece and place it in your mouth, let the lust of salt and sweet coat your tongue.
I still can’t make up my mind if this is just bizarre or maybe genius….
