So, on Saturday night, I headed west to have dinner with a pal that had just moved into the area. There’s a teeny stretch of Abbot Kinney that is home to Joe’s, Lilly’s and Primitivo. I’ve had the pleasure of dining at the the first two, but never Primitivo — it’s always been packed and I hate cooing over hosts/hostesses for a table. Thank goodness this time we had a reservation! Surrounded by the hipper-than-hip Venice crowd, we found ourselves nestled in a nice little table out back. Tried all kinds of dishes and everything was fabulous. Loved the service– our bussers couldn’t have been more on top of things. And, some dude who we assume is the manager or owner (Blackberry attached, very management-esque) couldn’t have been nicer. And, the hostesses were hot. Overall, quite pleased with the experience.
On the way home, we ran into what seemed like the Westside version of Midnight Ridazz. All that hoopin’ and hollerin’ and no angry cars. Only in Venice. Makes me miss San Francisco and our first Critical Mass.
