Had brunch at PLAYA last week! I’ve been to Playa for small plates and cocktails and walked away thinking the food was tasty but pricey. (It’s a bit of a bummer to spend $60/person and be starving an hour later.) This visit I was reminded of how fabulous the space is; you’ll find yourself staring at the bar. And, the food is presented beautifully. Brunch prices also seem to be a few dollars than similar fare elsewhere (e.g. $15 burger) but the food, again, was tasty. If you’re willing to spend the extra cash, the Latin twist of traditional brunch items is worth trying out.
I had the Eggs Benedict (above) with Chipotle Béarnaise. One of my brunch companions raved about his burger (above) with New Mexico Green chiles and Piquillo ketchup. And, the other was really happy with the Maize Cake Salsa (below) with Semilla Burrata, arugula salad and salsa verde.
