Last week, three of us found that we all had the afternoon off. What to do? Cocktails! We called ahead to Bazaar thought the message saying they were “open for reservations from 10am to 10pm” meant the restaurant was open from 10am-10pm. Not so much. But, after you pull into the valet — whatchagonnado? Good thing Tres was open! Tres is the SLS hotel restaurant/bar- not to be confused with the Bazaar bar which just looks like the hotel bar.
There are a four seating options: 1) two (2) groupings of a low coffee table and plush armchairs and/or couch, one in the front and one towards the back wall (above photo, foreground); 2) main section of tall, marble-topped tables with bar stools; 3) dining room type seating, these are organized as separate “rooms” with dining tables/chairs (above photo, background).
Upside: The drinks we had were fabulous and the bartender could not been more pleasant.
Downside: Cocktails are $16, pricey even for Los Angeles.
