Shanghai Tailoring.

Posting one last tidbit about Shanghai. You MUST have some garments made whilst you’re visiting. If you have fabric that you’d like to use, pack it up and bring it with you. Otherwise, there’s plenty available at the Fabric Market.

Shanghai Fabric Market (Daily 9am-6pm)
Dong Jia Du,
Huang Jia Ma Tou,
399 Lujiabang Lu
上海南外轻纺面料市场,
董家渡,王家碼頭,
399陆家浜路,
近中山东二路

If you’re looking for a tailor, you must be specific about what you want. Many will cut clothes rather conservatively and if you want tighter sleeves/bust/waist — state so. Samples are best and they don’t need to be cut apart to make something similar. And, as a last resort try photos (from magazines, etc.) with specific notes on detailing, e.g. collars, zippers.
