Miss Peaches Southern Cuisine
February 21, 2009

We went to celebrate February with some real Southern cuisine at Miss Peaches in North Hollywood. Granted, the spot’s a little off the beaten path, but the drive was totally worth it. Executive chef and proprietor, Connell Moss, was on the premises and you’d be best served listening to the recommendations.

It was a tough choice to choose between all the amazing food, but (by a narrow margin) the catfish won out. Good-ness! Each entree comes with two sides and I decided to go all-carbs with mashed potatoes and mac-and-cheese. Others ordered black-eyed peas, greens, yams…we could go on and on.

Just as we had stuffed ourselves silly, we were reminded that Miss Peaches is famous for desserts. Good-ness. Lemon cake, red velvet cake, chocolate velvet cake and more.

I went with the Gooey Butter cake and this was all that was left by the time it had made it’s way over. Next time, I’m sitting on the end. This cake was FABULOUS. The name is an apt description and I hope this is what heaven tastes like. YUM. Still thinking about it. Get yourself some.
